Waiver Wire Pickups: Week 7 (Fantasy Football) (2024)

It seems hard to believe that we are nearly halfway through the regular fantasy season. We have some injuries and shakeups around the NFL as we head into Week 7, including a fresh set of teams on a bye. The Bills, Rams, Vikings, and Eagles all have the week off which means managers will need some major help to fill in for very large fantasy shoes.

Wan’Dale Robinson is finally back on the field after missing several weeks due to injury. Daniel Jones targeted Robinson four times, which he turned into three receptions for 75 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 9.2 yards per target and 12.3 yards per reception. That puts him more in the downfield category to stretch plays for the Giants. He is only 20% rostered and should keep seeing work with Kadarius Toney dealing with injuries and Sterling Shepard out for the season.

Alec Pierce came through for Matt Ryan and the Colts in their victory over Jacksonville in Week 6. He was only able to snag three of his seven targets but turned those into 49 yards and a touchdown. That production even came with Michael Pittman finally having a nice game with 13 receptions for 134 yards. Pierce is available in roughly 46% of leagues and is a must-add if he is available.

If you have room to stash Lions’ rookie Jameson Williams, now is the time to do it. Once he starts getting in reps and sees playing time, the chance to grab him will dwindle significantly.

Could it be true? Is Kenyan Drake back? As much as it scares me, Drake has been getting involved in the Ravens’ offense and had his best week yet against the Giants. He rushed 10 times for 119 yards and one touchdown while J.K. Dobbins was mostly held in check. He may be a necessary addition to help fill in for all of the players that are questionable or on a bye. At only 8% rostered, he should be widely available on the waiver wire.

It’s unclear exactly what happened to Melvin Gordon during Monday Night Football, but he sat on the sideline for the majority of the game. Even Mike Boone was noticeably absent with only one carry after posting 85 total yards in Week 5. Latavius Murray, however, had a field day against the Chargers posting 15 rushing attempts for 66 yards. If Gordon continues to be grounded and Boone cannot get going, Murray could continue on this trajectory. However, it’s important to remember how the Broncos use their backs. It’s more likely we will see a committee between (possibly) all three backs. Although, who knows with new head coach Nathaniel Hackett? Still, Murray is widely available at only 18% rostered in Sleeper leagues.

How Robert Tonyan (or, rather, Bob Tonyan) is available in over 50% of leagues is beyond me. The Packers’ offense is anything but sexy or explosive so far this season, but we’re still talking about a two-time MVP in Aaron Rodgers slinging the football. If you need help this week, Tonyan is a good option albeit in a bad matchup.

Mike Gesicki had his best outing in Week 6 with six receptions on seven targets for 69 yards and two touchdowns. That kind of production isn’t repeatable, but it’s enough to turn heads for a spot start against the Steelers. The quarterback situation is still up the in air, but he is worth a start if he is available and you’re desperate.

Giants’ tight end, Daniel Bellinger, found the end zone again in Week 6 against the Ravens. He is touchdown-dependent, but Jones has been looking his way when he needs help and can’t find a running lane. He had a season-high in receptions with five for 38 yards and a score. It’s not a great matchup against the Jaguars, but with Tyler Higbee, Dawson Knox, Irv Smith, and Dallas Goedert on a bye, he may get you through the week.
