Best Prismatic Gems – Best & Worst Stats

Prismatic Gems, unlike other gems MoP Remix players can get and slot, only grant passive stat upgrades. Like the Cloak of Infinite Potential, Prismatic Gems empower your character not through new abilities, but through customizable stat boosts.

There are currently seven stats that can be boosted with Prismatic Gems in MoP Remix – Armor, Crit Chance, Haste, Leech, Mastery, Speed, and Versatility. Three of these stats are not that useful in MoP Remix, while players will have to choose what stat is best between Mastery, Versatility, Haste, and Crit Chance depending on your spec.

This gem is incredibly powerful in group play, whether you are taking on MoP Remix Scenarios, Dungeons, or Raids at any difficulty. Giving your allies resource generation is always handy, and it stacks with other players' Brilliance Gems as well – essentially giving your party a never-ending pool of constantly-replenishing resources.

Slay

If you've tried taking on some LFR Raids or Group Finder Dungeons and Scenarios, you've probably seen major bosses suddenly die when they reach 10% HP. This is almost entirely thanks to the Slay gem.

This gem automatically lets its wielder attempt to Slay an opponent when they reach 10% HP. This automatic blast of damage is equal to your max HP, which can become ridiculously high with the right MoP Remix Threads and buffs active. If you want to make almost everything in MoP Remix 10% easier, make sure to keep Slay equipped in a Tinker slot.

Lifestorm

There are a handful of Meta gems in MoP Remix, each of which grants a combat-oriented ability. Some grant immense Healing or Shields, some combine damage and support, and others are built purely to do damage.

Though most Meta gems are powerful, and hardly any are a wasted slot, Lifestorm is arguably the most widely useful and a great default for your Helm slot. This gem lets you summon a gigantic storm that constantly rains down lightning on enemies within 30 yards of the caster. Over the course of the ability, three flowers will bloom around the area, which explode after three seconds to both Heal and grant Haste to nearby allies.

This is a truly all-in-one gem. It won't do as much healing as a direct Healing or as much damage as a direct Damage gem (like Ward of Salvation or Bulwark of the Black Ox), but its multiple effects don't dilute its overall effectiveness in most situations, solo or group.

Lightning Rod

Though there are many great gems for different specs and builds in MoP Remix, Lightning Rod is arguably the best gem in MoP Remix. A Tinker gem, Lightning Rod grants all of your abilities the chance to apply an effect on your target that grants Critical Strike to allies. After eight seconds, it returns to you and grants you Critical Strike as well. This whole time it deals a ton of Nature damage to enemies

The thing is, despite being a chance-based ability, Lightning Rod procs reliably. It's almost a guarantee upon entering combat that you will get a Lightning Rod proc, giving a huge amount of Crit, dealing damage over time, and generally boosting your damage output immensely over its duration.

Make sure to keep Lightning Rod slotted if you acquire it, as it is a Tinker gem (which you will have many of at max level), and provides one of the most powerful proc effects in MoP Remix.
