This Dairy Free Crab Dip is a real crowd pleaser (and no one will ever guess that it’s Dairy Free). It’s deliciously creamy with chunks of crab. This dip is Paleo, Keto, Whole30, Dairy Free, Gluten Freeand Specific Carbohydrate Diet Legal.
Holy moly heavenly dip! Are you guys ready for a hot and creamy dip that is going to be my new (and soon your) go to dip for any and every occasion?
This is the perfect dish to bring it a summer BBQ and is guaranteed to be a hit with any crowd.
Crab is generally not a cheap ingredient to use, so I am always amazed at how many crab dips I have tried seem to make cheese the star of the show, completely masking the delicious pieces of crab meat.
I really wanted this Whole30 crab dip to be just as creamy as traditional crab dip (but obviously dairy free) and I can confirm that it is pure ooey gooey deliciousness.
You can prep this dip up to two days in advance and then quickly heat it up in the oven right before serving.
I have included the recipe for a simple fake parmesan that can be sprinkled on top of the dip before baking to give it a bit of crunchy texture. The topping is totally optional and the dip is just as good without it.
I found a really simple alternative to grain free crackers and vegetable sticks that is fantastic served alongside this dish. I peeled a daikon radish and cut it into thin slices like a cracker. They are incredibly sturdy, mild in flavour and perfect for loading with this crab dip.
Looking for other easy appetizers to feed a crowd? Here are a few others you might enjoy:
- Asian Chicken Skewers

My family is not whole30, and my husband always turns his nose up to nutritional yeast. I made this without telling them the ingredients and everyone raved about it! This is the only crab dip recipe I’ll ever use. Thanks so much!

This was so good! I used dairy free parmesan cheese in the dip and I used yellow onion instead of spring onion because that is all I had. I topped it with chives and left off the nuts and nutritional yeast because I didn’t have them. Will make this again for sure.

Made this yesterday for 3 so halved the ingredients as it was an appetizer. Wow, the crab flavour came through beautifully, texture was great. Next time I’ll make the whole batch and just eat it with a spoon. So, so good, thankyou.

Unlike a previous poster we did NOT halve this recipe for 2 people and I was so glad. I ate way too much because the flavors work so well together. Truly decadent and I didn’t have the nuts for the topping either. Looking for another occasion to make this as savory always wins over sweet for me. Thanks !

Thanks for the comment Julie! Great to hear it was a hit! I find I have zero control around this dip so always need to make extra 🙂

Looking forward to trying this, but is the mustard in this recipe just regular mustard powder? Thank you!

Halved the recipe for just 2 people. Followed the recipe pretty closely – subbed fresh parsley for spring onion and didn’t make the topping. We loved it! Great flavor with crab being the star of this dip. Will make it again for company on New Year’s Eve.
